Happy 1st Birthday to this blog :)
May 2, 2011. It’s been a year since I started this blog. Because of boredom, I decided to make a new blog, something new, something with a different idea. And I came up with this blog.
I never knew that this would have so many followers. I started at zero, then one day, I woke up and saw my inbox has so may messages and when I checked my followers, I have gained 2,000+ followers overnight and it just kept growing. Until now, I don’t know how did those people find this blog.
At first, I wanted to use this blog to earn some money because I was so jealous of those bloggers who make money out of their blogs. But as time goes by, I realized that this blog gave me so much more than money. It gave me happiness whenever there are people who sends me a message saying “Thank you”, and other nice words. I was really so inspired by those messages. Whenever I am sad, I just scroll through my inbox and reading those simple words puts a very big smile on my face. It reminds me that I, a simple 15-year old boy, has a purpose in this world just like everyone else.
Running this blog was such a great ride. I have learned so many things. My definition of happiness changed. Because after 1 year of this blog, I knew that Helping other people to be happy is the best way to be happy.
Thank you everyone for that wonderful year. I hope you understand why I am being inactive these days, it’s just that I am busy preparing for my college life. But I would try my best to post :) Thank you again!
The great advantage of having nothing is that everything becomes a gain. Losing everything is at the same time the scariest, as well as the most liberating experience you can have. When you have something, -anything, you’ve got to protect it from disappearing. And so worry becomes a resident in your heart. When you’ve got nothing, your heart overflows with gratitude for every offering you receive.
Follow the Rules to be happy
Abraham Lincoln said it best: “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” Think like Lincoln by changing your perspective on life. Don’t think of getting rained on at work as a negative thing. Appreciate the beauty of nature as the rain droplets caress your skin. If someone insults you, be proud that you’re strong enough to walk away.
Follow the Rules to be happy
Happiness does not come from seeking new landscapes, but from having new eyes on the same life you’ve always been living.
Follow the Rules to be happy
Old baby photos, photos of fun vacations and photos of close friends and family members can put a smile on your face and temporarily make you forget about whatever is making you sad.
Follow the Rules to be happy
You may find that you are not able to do something. As long as you try and learn something in the process, you will never truly fail.
Follow the Rules to be happy
Calling yourself stupid or fat will only lower your self-esteem. If you are unhappy with something, make a plan to change it instead of beating yourself up about it.
Follow the Rules to be happy
Saying that you will try something only means exactly that: that you will try and you might not succeed. Saying that you will means that you are confident and you are picturing success.
Follow the Rules to be happy
Look at your feet and legs and accept them. Look at your torso and accept your torso. Look at your arms and chest and accept them. Look at your face and hair and accept your features and your hair. Nobody else has these features; you are unique and beautiful.
When you’re purposely trying to be happy or cheerful, but just can’t seem to achieve it at the moment, do something crazy. It’s stupid, crazy, weird stuff like that that seems pointless, but could actually lift your mood after you do it, just because you’re glad you did it. Most fundamentally, recognize that happiness is a state of mind and not something which can be defined objectively.
